Discover the Inspiration and Vision of Oasis Farm
Nestled in Pittsburgh's historic Homewood neighborhood, Oasis Farm is more than just an urban farm - it's a vibrant, community-centered hub dedicated to fostering food access, sustainable agriculture, and deep connections.
We Grow Food, Grow People, and Grow Community
At Oasis Farm, we work to create a sustainable, accessible food system while fostering community resilience and empowering the next generation. Located in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood, we are committed to transforming vacant spaces into thriving sources of fresh, culturally relevant produce.

What We Grow

Educating the Youth
Through programs like Field2Fork-Urban Farming Academy, we educate young people on urban agriculture, environmental justice, and career opportunities in the food industry, promoting health and economic well-being. Guided by bio-intensive farming practices, integrated pest management (IPM), and the core value of respect for nature, we maximize our yield on less than an acre, nurturing both the soil and our community.’

Edible Forest
Our Edible Forest is where nature’s pharmacy comes alive! The healing properties of the soothing herbs and immunity-boosting plants complement modern medicine. Designed to be a quiet reflective garden with an outdoor classroom, the edible forest offers visitors and volunteers the opportunity to deepen their understanding of sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and the powerful connection between nature and wellness.

Off-Grid Bio Shelter
Our Passive Solar Bioshelter is an innovative haven where nature and technology work in perfect harmony! This cutting-edge greenhouse isn’t just a place to grow food; it’s a living, breathing ecosystem that blends solar power, and rainwater harvesting to redefine what’s possible in sustainable agriculture.
The Bioshelter is a partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Business of Humanities Project.

High Tunnel & Raised Beds
Our vibrant market garden has nine raised growing beds bursting with life and brimming with fresh, nutrient-packed produce grown sustainably. They showcase a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs that thrive in harmony with nature. Our hoop house extends the season and protects delicate crops.
Together, the raised beds and hoop house form a dynamic duo, creating a productive space that not only provides fresh food for the community but also inspires hands-on learning about sustainable farming and local food systems.
